Nylon Fittings

Nylon fittings are a type of hose or pipe connector. They are used in fluid and fluid plumbing applications to connect two or more hoses or pipes, to redirect fluid flow or to connect nozzles and spray tips when using a spray boom. Nylon fittings weather well and have both cold and hot-water applications. They demonstrate good resistance to organic solvents, oils and gasoline; good impact resistance and strength at high temperatures. Nylon is not recommended for use with ammonium, boric acid, calcium, sulfuric acid or hydrochloric acid.

Polypropylene Ball Valve

The polypropylene Ball Valve by Green Leaf including bolted ball, single union, and true union valves are manufactured in sizes ranging from 1/2” to 4”. Our ball valves are designed for fluid flow applications on equipment that transfers fluid like sprayers, pumps, hoses, bulk tanks and many other applications. All Green Leaf valves are made from high strength custom blended glass filled polypropylene with Teflon seats and stem bushings for smooth operation.

The polypropylene ball valve is a type of quarter-turn valve. It contains a sphere or ball with a hole that, when aligned with both ends of the valve, allows liquid to flow. When the hole is out of alignment with the ends of the valve, flow is blocked. Polypropylene ball valves support a range of pressures and temperatures and are an excellent choice for shutoff applications. They are durable, reliable and easy to operate.

Single Union Ball Valve

The Single Union Ball Valve by Green Leaf uses EPDM seals for great chemical resistance and are available in sizes 1/2”, 3/4”, 1”, 1-1/4”, 1-1/2”, and 2”. The single union ball valve is used for fluid flow applications and has been designed for everyday customers like farmers, plumbers, etc. Green Leaf single union valves are used on sprayers, pumps, hoses, bulk tanks and many other applications.

The pressure rating of single union ball valves is 125 psi at up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. All of our single union ball valves are made in the USA and have 1/4 turn open and close. The ball is diamond turned after molding, making it spherically perfect which provides precise contact between the ball and seats. Valve repair kits are available for all valves.

True Union Ball Valve

Bolted Ball Valve

The Bolted Ball Valve by Green Leaf has Viton seals for great chemical resistance and use stainless steel bolts and nuts making them corrosion resistant and are available in sizes 1/2”, 3/4”, 1”, 1-1/4”, 1-1/2”, 2”, 3” and 4”. The bolted ball valve is used for fluid flow applications and has been designed for everyday customers like farmers, plumbers, etc. Green Leaf ball valves are used on sprayers, pumps, hoses, bulk tanks and many other applications.

The pressure rating of bolted valves is 150 psi at up to 70 degrees Fahrenheit for the 1/2” to 2” standard port options and 100 psi at 70 degrees Fahrenheit for the 2” to 4” full port options. All of our ball valves are made in the USA and have 1/4 turn open and close. The ball is diamond turned after molding, making it spherically perfect which provides precise contact between the ball and seats. Valverepair kits are available for all valves.

Polypropylene Camlock

A polypropylene camlock is a type of hose coupling that is used to quickly connect or disconnect a fitting on a pipe or hose. Polypropylene camlocks can be used with many different liquids and are available in a variety of sizes to accommodate a range of hose or piping diameters.

GatorLock Fitting

The Gator Lock Coupling by Green Leaf® is a simple and reliable way of connecting and disconnecting equipment that transfers fluid like sprayers, pumps, hoses, and many other applications. Green Leaf offers a safety feature which is a patented positive locking system to keep the arms from unintentionally coming open from pump or transport vibration.

Green Leaf’s injection molded plastic Gator Lock fittings are manufactured in sizes ranging from 1/2” to 4”. There are eight different universal configurations of fittings that are offered in the market:

1. Type ‘A’ Coupler – male adaptor with female NPT thread
2. Type ‘B’ Coupler – female coupler with male NPT thread
3. Type ‘C’ Coupler – female coupler with hose shank

Polypropylene Fittings

Polypropylene fittings are a type of hose or pipe connector. They are used in fluid and fluid plumbing applications to connect two or more hoses or pipes, to redirect fluid flow or to connect nozzles and spray tips when using a spray boom. Polypropylene fittings have good chemical resistance and are unaffected by most weak acids and alkalies. Polypropylene should not be used with oxidants or strong acids or in continuous sunlight.

The Polypropylene Fitting by Green Leaf® including hose, pipe, garden hose, and nozzle fittings are manufactured in sizes ranging from 1/8” to 3”. Our polypropylene fittings are made in the USA. The pressure rating of Green Leaf’s Polypropylene fittings is rated at 75 psi at 140 to 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Polypropylene fittings are highly durable and chemical resistant and offered in a variety of thread and hose shank combinations.

Spray Tips

A spray nozzle is a precision device that facilitates dispersion of liquid into a spray. The spray tip on the end of the nozzle controls the drop size of the liquid flowing out of a sprayer. The spray tip has a major effect on the precision and efficiency of the spray application, whether you are using spray tips for broadcast; banding and row crops; or vineyards, orchards and specialty crops.

Green Leaf Terminology
With so many different product combinations on the market you need to know the basics. There is terminology you need to know so you are prepared to answer those tough questions.

NPT is the abbreviation for National Pipe Thread Taper, which is a US standard for tapered threads on a fitting. A taper thread will pull tight and make a fluid-tight seal.

Male & Female Thread– On a male, the threaded portion is external, on a female the threaded portion is internal.

Female Coupler accepts the male adapter of the cam and groove fitting.

Male Adapter is inserted into the female coupler of the cam and groove fitting.

Hose Shank can also be called a hose barb. They are a cylindrical piece for attaching and securing hoses. The barb like rings allow for an easy push connection.

Garden Hose Thread is a non-sealing thread and requires a washer, o-ring, or gasket to obtain a proper seal.

NSF61 means parts are certified by NSF International NSF/ANSI Standard 61 to be used as Drinking water system components and will not cause Health effects.

NSF372 means parts are certified by NSF International NSF/ANSI Standard 372 to be used as Drinking water system components and have a safe Lead Content.

Hydroscopic tends to absorb moisture from the air, readily taking up and retaining moisture.

Nylon is a highly durable and chemical resistant material, most Green Leaf nylon fittings are NSF61 and NSF372 certified. Nylon is a hydroscopic material.

Talc Filled means that talc is used as a filler and added to plastic resin to act as a lubricant.

Glass Filled means glass (fiberglass) is used as an additive to enhance a plastic resin’s rigidity and strength.

Polyproylene is a highly durable and chemical resistant material. Generally Green Leaf fittings 1″ and below are made from talc filled polypropylene, fittings 1-1/4″ and larger are made from glass filled polypropylene. Polyproylene is a non-hydroscopic material.

Unified National Thread – UN is a straight thread no sealing characteristics. UN threads are normally used in conjunction with nuts.

Bolted Ball Valve is a valve that uses bolts to assemble the valve.

Single Union Valve is a valve that has one end that can be unscrewed.

True Union Valve is a valve that can be unscrewed from both ends.

Full Port refers to when the hole in the ball is the full size listed. For example, the V200FP is a 2″ full port ball valve, the opening in the ball is a full 2″.

Standard Port refers to when the hole in the ball is not the full size listed. An example, the V200 is a 2″ standard port ball valve, the opening in the ball is actually 1-1/2″

1/4 Turn is a feature that all Green Leaf ball valves can be opened or closed by turning the handle 1/4 turn.

Seats refer to the parts that the ball rides on inside the valve to ensure smooth operation
Viton is the material that o-rings are made of to seal valve.
